Romanian Liga II
Liga II is the name of the second level division of the Romanian football league system. Liga II has two parallel regional (West - East) division, each with 18 teams. The top two from each division get promoted to Liga I. The bottom four from each division are relegated to Liga III.

Future changes
Starting with the 2010/2011 season, Liga II will have two series of 16 teams each, with the first two from each series promoting and the last three relegating.
Starting with the 2014/2015 season, Liga II will have only one division of 20-22 teams.
